空山新雨後，天氣晚來秋。

明月松間照，清泉石上流。

竹喧歸浣女，蓮動下漁舟。

隨意春芳歇，王孫自可留。

Autumn Sunset from the Mountain Abode

English translation: Venerable Miao Guang

Serene mountains after the fresh rain,

The autumn ambiance approaches at nightfall;

The bright moon shines through the pines,

While clear springs pass over the stones.

From the bamboos, clamorous washer-girls return,

Out of rippling lotuses, fishing boats emerge.

Though spring blossoms wilt,

The royal descendants can nevertheless stay.
