conventionally

「Convention」是例行的（大型會議），例如：「Taipei was chosen as the site for the convention.」（台北被選為舉行會議的場所。）

因為大型會議的「常態」舉行，「convention」也解釋為「常規」，例如：「All new fashion starts out as a reaction against existing convention.（所有新時尚，都是從打破現有常規開始創造流行的。）

「conventionally」在文中就是「常態、例行的」，婆婆「……conventionally from the clinic……」固定時間要去診所回診、拿藥。

embrace

「embrace」是「擁抱」，例如：Peggy came forward and embraced her baby sister. （佩姬上前擁抱她的小妹妹。）

Earthquake survivors were crying for joy then embraced each other.（地震倖存者喜極而泣，然後互相擁抱。）

廣義的「embrace」可以解釋為「把握」，例如：「Just embrace the moment.」（把握當下）；或「It was time for him to embrace it.」（是他該把握的時候了）。
