提 要
被家人拋棄的騎師、受虐的小馬，遇到同樣失意的大亨願意資助比賽，以人小志氣高的姿態參加、挑戰自己，故事改編成電影《奔騰年代》（Seabiscuit），片中的對白發人深省：

The little horse had drawn more newspaper coverage in 1938 than Roosevelt, who was Second, Hitler(third), Mussolini (fourth), or any other newsmaker. His match with War Admiral was almost certainly the single biggest news story of the year and one of the biggest sports moments of the century.

We had to rebuild him, both mentally and physically, but you don't have to rebuild the heart when it's already there. The affection that this inarticulate brown horse had aroused...was the most amazing thing.

Every time the horse set foot on the course, someone would cry out, "Here comes the Biscuit!" and the track would come to a dead standstill. Why rate him? He knows the poles better than I do.

Seabiscuit
海餅乾（Seabiscuit）是美國1930年代一匹著名的賽馬，純賽馬血統的牠，因為個子矮小、個性倔強，不幸遭遇喜歡用鞭打管教的訓練師，一度懷才不遇，直到巧遇獨具慧眼的馴馬師，找來同樣飽受欺凌、個性倔強的騎師，在美國陷入大蕭條的時候，人馬合一的進取精神，給美國民眾以巨大的鼓舞，被譽為「美國精神」的代表。
海餅乾在1935年至1940年的6個賽季中，89場勝33場，創當時最高紀錄。作家蘿拉．希林布蘭曾為牠寫傳記，名為《海餅乾：史上最偉大的賽馬傳奇》（Seabiscuit:An American Legend）。好萊塢2003年根據這本書拍攝了同名電影《奔騰年代》（Seabiscuit）。
