Once upon a time, there lived a wealthy merchant. He had a young and handsome son, sharing his opulent lifestyle.

One day his son purchased a costly book. Surprisingly, the book had only one verse in it, "Whatever's in your destiny, you will get it". When the merchant saw his son reading the book, he lost his temper, "How can you become a successful businessman when you read this? Just get out of my house. I don't want to see you again."

The depressed boy took his only book left. Nevertheless, he had developed a kind of liking to the verse, so he kept chanting it all day, every day.

Quite a few days later, he reached a village. Whoever asked about his name, he replied with the verse "Whatever's in your destiny, you will get it".

Consequently, the villagers started calling him by the name "Whatever's in your destiny, you will get it".

One day, the daughter of the mayor came to visit local festival gathering. She happened to see a handsome prince and fell in love at first sight.

Therefore, she sent a message to the prince. But by mistake, it was delivered to the merchant's son. "You entered my heart at first sight. Please come to my room in the evening. There will be a rope hanging outside for you to climb up," the letter reads.

As evening came, the merchant's son climbed into the her room. The daughter of the mayor asked him in the dark, "What are your feelings towards me?" He recited the same sentence as usual. The shocked woman immediately lightened the room and kicked him out angrily.

The merchant's son felt humiliated. On his way out, an exquisite royal wedding was being held, he happened to be hungry and joined the wedding ceremony to enjoy lavish food. At the very moment, a mad elephant crashed into the crowd. Everyone, including the bridegroom, started running for their lives!

The merchant's son showed enormous courage and stabbed the mad elephant with a fork, made the crazy animal retreated back into the jungle.

After seeing his brave act, the bride-to-be princess announced that she will only marry the merchant's son, not the coward who left her trampled on the mud.

Hence, a fight broke out between the two families. The case was taken to court.

The King called the merchant's son and asked him to explain the situation. The merchant's son quoted, "You get what is destined for you." After listening to this usual quote, the princess and her bridesmaid started blushing and giggling.

After understanding the entire situation, the king married his daughter to the young man and declared him as the heir to his throne.

The young man who was called "Whatever's in your destiny, you will get it." became a king and built his own palace where he lived with his wife happily thereafter.

WOW!

opulent

The duke built an opulent castle for himself nearby.(公爵在附近為自己建造了一座豪華的城堡。)

That retired old couple lives an opulent lifestyle and travels all the time.(那對退休的老夫妻過著富足的生活,經常旅行。)

The morning daisy smeared with the gold of the opulent sun.(早晨的雛菊沾滿了燦爛的陽光。)

lavish

It was one of the most lavish weddings I've ever been to.(這是我去過的最豪奢的婚禮之一。)

American film reviewers are lavish in their praise of this Korean movie.(美國電影評論家對這部韓國電影大為讚賞。)

Such lavish praise was kind of hard to believe.(如此誇張的讚美,有點令人難以置信。)

thereafter

My classmate left town; thereafter we never met again.(我的同學離開家鄉,此後我們再也見不到面。)

Alice was born in San Diego, but shortly thereafter her family moved to the east coast.(愛麗絲在聖地亞哥出生,但此後不久,她們家移居到東岸。)

Thereafter she wrote articles for papers and magazines from New York.(此後,她替紐約的報紙、雜誌寫文章。)

Everyday

I used to be the kind of guy

Who’d never let you look inside

I’d smile when I was crying

I had nothing but a life to lose

Thought I had a lot to proof

In my life, there’s no denying

Goodbye to all my yesterdays

Goodbye, so long, I’m on my way

I’ve had enough of cryin’

Bleedin’, sweatin’, dyin’

Hear me when I say

Gonna live my life everyday

I’m gonna touch the sky

And I spread these wings and fly

I ain’t here to play

I’m gonna live my life everyday
