fresh from

「fresh」是新鮮，「fresh from 」則是指「剛剛……」。

可以說：「剛剛完成的事」（fresh from something），例如：「The president of Republic of China is set to begin a trip to the United States fresh from a key election victory.」（贏得關鍵選舉的中華民國總統將訪問美國。）

也可以說：「剛剛從某地來」（fresh from somewhere），例如：「As a 15-year-old fresh from Taiwan, she won three important music competitions in one month.」（剛從台灣來十五歲的她，在一個月內贏得了三個重要音樂比賽。）當然原本「新鮮」的意思也很常用，形容「熱騰騰、剛出爐」的食物，就可以說：「fresh from the oven」。

spurred

「spur」是「馬刺」，這裡當作「鼓勵別人前進（to urge someone onward）」。

例如：「The crowd spurred the runners on throughout the race. 」（觀眾的歡呼聲鼓舞參加路跑者完成比賽。）

馬刺非常少見，為了不虐待動物，現在騎馬也不用了。所以經常聽見的「Spurs」是美國職籃的「聖安東尼奧馬刺隊」。
