On August 20th, Buddha's Light International Association (BLIA) Labis and BLIA YAD Labis visited SJKC Karas and SJK C Bekok for a tree planting activity, continuing the campus "T-Earth Project" tree planting initiative.
A total of 9 Fo Guang members participated in this event, including BLIA Labis President Lu Wei Qiang, BLIA Labis committee members, and members of BLIA YAD Labis. The representatives from SJKC Karas were Vice Principal Liu Yu Wan and Li Chun Mei, while SJK C Bekok was attended by Principal Zhou Yi Xiong, Vice Principal Liu Yi Qian, and Zheng Yong Ling, who warmly welcomed the Fo Guang members' visit.

Lu Wei Qiang expressed that the Earth is already sick, and the climate crisis has plunged the world into an emergency era. Protecting the Earth and its ecology should not be limited to a few individuals. The more people contribute to improving the environment, the greater the chances for humanity to survive. Only with a healthy living environment can humans lead a good life.
By involving everyone in simple and effective ways to protect the Earth, collective strength can be generated to drive change. In order for everyone to become a "Captain Earth" to protect the planet, BLIA Labis planted 10 saplings of Araucaria trees each at SJKC Karas and SJK C Bekok, conveying the importance of protecting the Earth, cherishing nature, and advocating for environmental conservation to nearly 350 students and teachers across these two schools.

Principal Zhou Yi Xiong stated that protecting and greening the Earth is an important lesson for students to understand the natural ecology. Principal Zhou specially invited two 6th-grade students, Wang Qi Le and Deng Ya Le, to represent the school in the tree-planting activity. He hoped to deepen students' impressions and encourage them to protect the Earth and nature, as "the Earth is our home," and this should begin from the "heart."
Lu Wei Qiang utilized this activity to promote the upcoming "BLIA 2023 Malaysia Buddhism Exam," which will take place online on September 23rd, to the students of these two schools, encouraging interested teachers and students to participate. SJKC Karas is also prepared to promote this event to other Chinese primary schools.
