G:Williams, do you have any red envelopes
W:I still have one left. Why do you need it
G:My Japanese friend will get married in Japan next week, and I will attend her wedding.
W:Japan If you attend her wedding, you can't use the red envelope. Japanese don't give their friends red envelopes in a wedding.
G:Then what should I do
W:Every country has different customs. In Japan, they use white envelopes. Of course itis different from the white envelope we use in Taiwan. We only use white envelopes when we attend a funeral.
G:I see. Then I will buy that kind of envelope when I arrive in Japan.
W:Don't forget to write down the names of your friend and her husband on the envelope. This is also Japanese custom.
