Good Causes and Conditions Lead to Success (11)
Once, when a Ma-chu pilgrims group from Changhua visited a Ma-chu temple in Peikang, I was invited by Mr. Ta-keng Lin to come by on a tricycle and have a look. This gave me a deep understanding of folk religion in Taiwan. To repay his hospitality, I invited him to serve as vice president of Fu-shan Buddhist College in our Fu-shan Temple, Changhua. I hoped that our good "causes and conditions" would help promote Buddhism in the Changhua area.
Subsequently, many monastics provided me with good "causes and conditions" to spread Buddhist teachings. Among them were Venerable Yuan Jung of Tung-shan Temple, Pintung; Venerable Chih Tao of Ching-chueh Temple, Miaoli; Venerable Te Hsi of Shen-chai Hall; Venerable Miao Pen of Pi-lu Temple, Houli; Venerables Shan Ting and Hui Ting of Chao-yuan Temple, Meinung; and Venerable Wen Chih of Bodhi Hall, Panch'iao. I worked hard to repay their kindness, writing and mailing them books and magazines.
