On January 22nd, representatives from Fo Guang Shan, accompanied by Venerable Miao Jing from Mabuhay Temple of Fo Guang Shan, paid a visit to Mayor Jose Carlos. L. Cari of Baybay City. The mayor expressed heartfelt gratitude for Fo Guang Shan's active promotion of the Three Act of Goodness virtues program. He commended the collaboration with the Ministry of Education to enable students to engage in extensive learning across various fields. He expressed hope that future initiatives could expand to involve cooperation with the local community government, allowing community officials to participate in and promote the Three Act of Goodness principles.
The mayor learned that ten students from Baybay City are currently studying at Guang Ming College, with one having already graduated. He thanked Fo Guang Shan for providing full scholarships, nurturing valuable talents. He hoped that such initiatives would bring more opportunities for cultural development in Baybay.

Simultaneously, Baybay City is in the process of establishing an art performance center and looks forward to potential collaboration with Fo Guang Shan to jointly promote the development of arts and culture.
Venerable Miao Jing, on behalf of Fo Guang Shan, presented Mayor Cari with a set of calligraphy by Venerable Master Hsing Yun and the English version of "Buddha-Dharma ~ Pure and Simple," offering blessings for the city's development. The mayor expressed deep appreciation for Master Hsing Yun's calligraphy and declared it as his motto for the year. He instructed his assistant to display the calligraphy in the mayor's office, allowing all visitors to appreciate the beauty of this precious artwork. This exchange not only deepened the cooperation between Fo Guang Shan and Baybay City but also laid a more solid foundation for future interactions between the two.
