Mabuhay Temple Dancing Studio, Manila – The young talents of Mabuhay Kid's Ballet brought a touch of magic and elegance to Halloween celebrations on the 28th of October, 2023, at the Mabuhay Temple Dancing Studio in Manila. This unique event, organized by Mabuhay temple and the dedicated Madam Maria, provided an opportunity for students from nearby barangays, such as 697, 705, 713, and 786, to showcase their ballet skills, creativity, and community spirit.
The young participants, aged between 7 to 12 years, come from diverse educational backgrounds, with some attending public schools and others private institutions. The common thread binding them all is their passion for ballet, nurtured with unwavering support from their parents.

The Mabuhay Kids' Ballet program offers these children the chance to cultivate camaraderie, enhance their talents, acquire proper etiquette, and indulge in mind-relaxing exercises. Madam Maria, who has been an integral part of Mabuhay Temple events since 2014, is driven by a deep commitment to community service. She brings together kids, youth, parents, and older adults, fostering unity and mutual benefit.

Maria firmly believes that ballet promotes balance, coordination, and excellent posture, which, in turn, enhances mental alertness in school. The parents are not only pleased with their children's performances but also actively engage in supporting the program, joining their children in the Halloween celebration.

This year's Halloween theme centred around beloved Disneyland characters. The young ballet enthusiasts dressed as Snow White, Anna, Peter Pan, Belle, Cinderella, Aladdin, and many more. The costumes were nothing short of spectacular and showcased the children's creativity. A costume contest added an element of friendly competition, with the winners receiving the coveted best costume prize. As a sweet reward, each child left the event with a Halloween bucket filled to the brim with sweets and cookies to share with their families at home.
Venerable Zhipu, the coordinator of social education at Mabuhay Temple, crowned the young participants, making the event even more memorable.
Apart from the captivating ballet performances, the highlight of the day was the costume parade for trick-or-treating. The Abbess awarded each participant a certificate of participation and appreciation, recognizing their enthusiasm and commitment. The festivities concluded with a hearty vegetarian lunch in the temple's dining hall, bringing together the young talents, their families, and the community for a day of celebration and unity.
