Venerable Zhi Yi shared the benefits of a plant-based diet in the discussion, as well as strengthening the body, caring for the environment, and cultivating compassion. She led the students to think that the earth has never rejected us, allow us to breathe freely. When we set foot on this land, we should be grateful for the food and water, maintain this home together, and strive to give some good feedback to this environment.

VegRun is a practice of the Three Acts of Goodness. If a participant run ten kilometers, one kilogram of rice will be donated to those in need. When we have the ability to do a little bit for the world and share things with those who need them, we are doing Three Acts of Goodness. This is just one of the many skillful and convenient methods of Humanistic Buddhism advocated by Venerable Master Hsing Yun.
