A：The cat is called Maneki Neko. Its origin is from Japan and often made of porcelain. People believe that the Maneki Neko will bring the fortune for them.

J：You really know a lot about Japanese culture and custom. By the way, sometimes I see the Maneki Neko raise the different hand. Does this have different meanings, or is it just trying to make different poses

A：Actually, it have different meanings. The Maneki Neko which raises its right hand brings you the fortune, and the one which raises the left hand brings you customer.

安 妮：那叫做招財貓。它源自日本，通常是用陶瓷作成的。人們相信招財貓會為他們帶來財富。

茱利亞：妳還真是懂得很多日本的文化跟習俗呢。對了，有時候我看到招財貓舉起來的是不同的手。這有不同的意義嗎，或是只是製造出不同的姿勢而已？

安 妮：事實上，那是有不同意思的。舉起右手的招財貓會帶來財富，而舉起左手的則是招來客人。
