Photo shows Colombian one-legged dancer Reynaldo Ojeda dancing with his partner Lady Cruz during a pre-sentation in Bogota October 25, 2007. Ojeda is a salsa dancer with a differ-ence - and a YouTube sensation. He lost his leg during birth due to com-plications - but that did not dim his zest for life and in particular his pas-sion for salsa dancing. He even makes his living dancing in towns around North, Central and South America.
He has now become a star on a YouTube with a video showing him dancing salsa with dance partner Claudia Sanchez with the help of a crutch. So far it's been seen 948,895 times. Despite his disability, 33-year-old Reynaldo has now be-come one of the best salsa professional dancers in the Colombian capital city of Bogota. But success has come a price. During his youth he was the target of cruel jokes and girls shunned him. He was discriminated against by employees and was bullied at school for his disability.
For the past nine months, ever since he turned professional, his show has become one of the biggest salsa at-tractions in Bogota. He charges be-tween US$1,000 to US$2,500 for showings. His dream is to compete in a professional salsa competition in the U.S. and is saving up to turn his wish into a reality.
