Enlightenment is like
a Flower in Bloom
Venerable Master Hsing Yun (1927 -)
English translation: Ven. Zhi Yue and Calvin Ka-fat Lau
Those who always feel at peace and at ease can be said to have a garden in their hearts that is in bloom all year round. They do not need to search for beauty or spring.
By stopping to reflect, we see the true value of things and are not confused by their appearances. As a result, we do not trap ourselves in a toxic lifestyle.
This reflective attitude is fostered by becoming more aware, calm, and considerate. In this way, we can have moments of enlightenment even if we are in a sea of people.
The very moment of being enlightened is like a rhododendron that blossoms suddenly, a maple that sprouts, or the seeds of touch-me-nots being sown all over the hillside.
