Today, we will learn a very important word in —“Zao”.“Zao”is used with other characters to form many important words about the morning, or other early activities of the day.

  For example, breakfast in Chinese is“zao tsan.”“Zao”means “early”or“morning”and“tsan”means“meal.”If you want to talk about the morning itself, you can say“zao shang”but if you want to wish someone good morning, you can simply say“zao!”You can also say“zao an,”which means“morning”and“an”“peaceful”or “have a peaceful morning.”

  So, give it a try tomorrow morning, or should I say tomorrow“zao shang.”Before you eat your“zao tsan”or breakfast, be sure to say “zao an”or good or peaceful morning to whomever you meet. Or you can practice your Taiwanese and say“gao tsa!”which means“zao an” which means good morning or I wish you a peaceful morning,“gao tsa!”That'll wake them up.

  So, whether you are in a breakfast shop or you are on the go, you will be sure to enjoy your breakfast in Taiwan-a decidedly delicious way to start the day.

  今天，我們將學習一個很重要的中文字──早。「早」這個字通常和其他字搭配使用，組成很多重要與早晨或是早上活動有關的字。

  比方來說breakfast的中文是「早餐」。早就是early或是morning的意思；餐就是meal的意思；如果你單純只是要說the morning這個中文字。就請說「早」上，但是如果你希望別人有個美好或是平安的早晨，你可以只是說聲「早」，你也可以說「早安」，那意味著英文的have a peaceful morning。

  好的！明天早上試著說說看吧！在你吃早餐之前，請對每個你遇到的人說聲「早安」；祝他們有個美好或是平安的早晨，或是你可以練習你的閩南語，說聲Gao Tsa 那會讓他們清醒的。
