twisting and turning & swirling


「twist」 是彎曲， 「turn」是轉身，「twist and turn」是彎曲得旋轉，例如：The autumn leaves twisted and turned in the wind. （秋天的落葉被風吹得直打轉。）

「swirl」是旋轉，水旋轉形成漩渦，例如 ：The water swirled around her boat. （在她的小船旁邊有漩渦。）

文中的「The girl was twisting and turning underneath the raindrops」或「swirling, grinning, and laughing」，都是描述女孩開心地轉個不停。



whisper


「whisper」是低聲耳語，例如：She is whispering to her roommate. （她正在對她的室友竊竊私語。）

也可以用在形容大自然現象，例如：The wind was whispering in the bushes. （風穿過樹叢，輕聲作響。）



desert


「desert」是沙漠，荒涼的不毛之地。

當做動詞時，如同「abandon」，是遺棄、拋下不管的意思。被遺棄、拋下置之不理的感受，的確滿像瞬間「時空轉換」到了荒涼的沙漠！
