2.Maudgalyayana: A supercilious scholar, he became ordained along with Sariputra, and attained the fruit of sagehood in just seven days. He possessed great supernatural power, and even attained sagehood ten days earlier than Sariputra. In addition, he was well-known for his filial piety. Eventually, he died under the attack of shameless heretics who casted rocks at him.

2.目犍連︰這位目空一切的學者，和舍利弗一起出家，只七天時間就證得聖果。有大神通，比舍利弗證果還早了約十天時間，是有名的孝子，最後在裸形外道投擲的石塊下殉教。



3.Purna: The beloved son of a wealthy family, he was an adviser in the bhiksu community. He was very devoted to propagating the Dharma.

3.富樓那︰富有家庭的愛子，比丘中的諫言者，熱心弘法。



4.Subhuti: A philanthropist who loved to do good deeds and gave generously. He practiced non-dispute Samadhi , sat in a cave to meditate and contemplate emptiness. With such practice, heavenly beings praised him and scattered flowers on him.

4.須菩提︰樂善好施的慈善家，修無諍三昧，在岩中宴坐觀空，感得天人散花讚嘆。



5.Katyayana: From Ujjayini in Avanti of Southern India, he was a nephew of Ashita. He expounded the meanings of Dharma eloquently, and was foremost in debating treatises.

5.迦旃延︰南印度阿槃提國的獼猴食村人，阿私陀仙的外甥，善說法要，論議第一。



6.Mahakasyapa: Born in a very rich family, he was husband in name only to his beautiful wife for twelve years. Even after renunciation, he was considered stubborn and conservative. However, he was diligent in practicing asceticism and eventually inherited the Dharma lineage from the Buddha.

6.大迦葉︰生在富可敵國的家庭中，和美麗的妻子做了十二年名義的夫婦，出家後固執保守，勤修苦行，繼承了佛陀的法統。
