4.The Buddha path is unsurpassed; I vow to achieve it{10}: To vow to achieve the supreme Buddhahood.
Buddha cultivated merit and wisdom for three kalpas, and cultivated excellent characteristics for one hundred kalpas. Finally under a Bodhi tree, while gazing upon the stars, he accomplished the supreme Buddhahood. He attained the five eyes and six supernatural powers{11}, and was able to see the past, present and future. When we learn the teachings of the Buddha, we should learn from how he transcended the cycle of rebirth forever and thus was able to attain the Dharmakaya in order to stay in parinirvana, which is eternal purity and liberation. As the saying goes, 珧In the heaven above and the earth below, none is like the Buddha; it is the same in the worlds of ten directions.珣 Vowing to accomplish the supreme Buddhahood is the completion of three kinds of enlightenment and perfect myriad attributes which benefit oneself and the others.
If human beings can make resolutions, then everything can be done; and if a practitioner can make a vow, he will be able to attain Buddhahood. It is wished that all human beings can make the Four Universal Vows together with the aim of liberating sentient beings, eradicating afflictions, learning the Dharma, and attaining Buddhahood.
