Johan Lorbeer is a German street performer. He became famous in the past few years because of his "Still-Life" Performances, which took place in the public area. His installations includes "Proletarian Mural" and "Tarzan", which are famous in Germany.

洛比爾是德國街頭藝術家，過去幾年來，由於他在公開場合的「靜態」表演而成名。他的演出狀態包括「無產階級壁畫」和「泰山」，在德國家喻戶曉。

Lorbeer is also called an illusionist, a person who produces illusory effects as an artist whose work is marked by illusionism or a sleight-of-hand performer or a magician. Several of these performances feature Lorbeer in an apparently impossible position such as a street cleaner standing horizontally out from a wall high above the street, or standing in mid-air 'leaning' against a wall with one hand in Cairo, Egypt in November 2008.

也有人叫洛比爾是幻覺派藝術家或幻術家。身為藝術家，他可以製造幻覺效果，他作品的特色是幻覺技巧或魔術師的神奇手法。這些表演中有幾場洛比爾顯然處於一種不可能的狀態，例如，一名清道夫水平站在街頭高牆上，或2008年11月在埃及開羅以單手在半空中「靠」牆站立。

With his still-life performances, this German artist seems to unhinge the laws of gravity. For hours on time, he remains, as a living work of art, in physically impossible positions. Elevated or reduced to the state of a sculpture, he interacts with the bewildered and irritated audience, whose appetite for communication rises as time goes by, often culminating in the wish to touch the artist in his superhuman, angelic appearance in order to participate in his abilities.

These performances seemed really impossible as they involve illusions to the audience that makes him look like he is defying the laws of gravity. Though this trick seems genuine, it is not magic. He manages these positions by hiding his actual arm under his clothing and the 'arm' that is seen sticking to the wall is a support bar.

Since the end of the '70s of the past century, he has been raising attention in the art world with his work in the dynamic area of friction between act and sculpture. In the "Proletarian Wall Image", a reflection on the well-known "Proletarian Still Image" at times of the DDR, Lorbeer dressed in a Berlin street sweeper's crude-orange work uniform, stands motionlessly out of the wall at a 90-degree-angle on a height of approximately 3 metres.

自從上個世紀70年代末，他就開始以行動與雕塑之間的摩擦動態領域作品，引起藝文界注意。他的作品「無產階級牆壁意象」，為了反映東德統治時期知名的「無產階級靜態意象」，洛比爾身穿柏林清道夫橘紅色工作服，以90度角一動也不動地站在三公尺高的牆壁外頭。

The images are intriguing enough to make most viewers do a double take, and, as usual, some "expert" commentators have suggested that they have been manipulated in Photoshop or a similar program. However, the images are genuine and the man in the photographs is indeed Johan Lorbeer. Although his stunts are certainly spectacular, there is no magic involved, nor is Lorbeer somehow bending the laws of physics.

He is, however, a very skilled illusionist. As well as pleasing crowds with his popular street performances, Lorbeer has also exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in Frankfurt and at various other festivals and galleries. His 'still life' performances have built up a steady following across Europe.

他只是個技巧高超的幻術家，他不只以廣受歡迎的街頭表演吸引觀眾，也在法蘭克福現代美術館及其他不同的慶典和畫廊演出，他的「靜態生活」表演，在全歐洲的粉絲越來越多。

Lorbeer offers a more enigmatic explanation on his performances: 'My point of view standing on the wall acts normally; that is to say vertically. The optical perception redefines the wall as the floor, which is why from my position I perceive the observers as positioned against the wall.'

洛比爾對他自己的表演提出更莫測高深的解釋：「在我看來，站在牆上是再正常不過的舉動，我是指垂直看。視覺認知重新界定牆壁是地板，因此從我的位置看，觀眾才是站在牆壁上。」
