On 13th December 2023, BLIA NZ YAD & President of Fo Guang Club (FGC) SinJun Chong, completed the Bachelor’s degree in Bachelor of Computer & Information Sciences majoring in Networks and security and attended the graduation ceremony. SinJun arrived at the Temple in his graduation robe with his family to express his deepest gratitude and share the joy with Abbess Manshin and the Temple team.

At the age of 5, SinJun Chong followed his mother to the Temple and attended classes at Fo Guang Chinese School Auckland. By the age of 12, he had become the President of BLIA YAD Subdivision 3. He is currently a member of the BLIA North Island Chapter 1. In 2019, during his dining service training at the FGS Headquarters in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, SinJun had the opportunity to meet the Founding Master of the FGS Buddhist Order, Venerable Master Hsing Yun, arranged by the Dean of FGS Tsung Lin University Venerable MiaoNan. The precious meeting inspired SinJun to embody the Grand Master’s spirit as his motivational force.

In 2020, SinJun was admitted to the Auckland University of Technology (AUT), a prestigious university with over 120 years of history. Despite the demands of his studies, SinJun remained actively involved with the Temple, fostering connections among diverse youths and leading them in Temple service.
SinJun expressed his gratitude for the Temple’s nurturing environment, stating, Stress from coursework is inevitable, but I am truly grateful for the care and support from the Venerables and the YADs, which allowed me to achieve satisfactory results amidst hard work and learning. He vows to practice the Grand Master’s teachings and to complete each task to the best of his ability, never giving up.
Abbess congratulated SinJun, emphasizing that embracing hardships leads to positive growth and fruition in life. Leeyone, SinJun’s mother and Deputy President of SubChapter 2, expressed heartfelt joy at her children’s academic accomplishments. She conveyed her contentment and gratitude to the Venerables for their meticulous care over the past 18 years, reflecting on the significant role the Temple played in her children’s growth and learning.
