Archer Christian Training School's kindergarten, led by Principal Lina D. Lingco, embarked on a meaningful journey to Yuan Thong Temple on December 14th. Nearly a hundred participants, including children aged three to five, parents, and teachers, were filled with enthusiasm throughout the event. With the guidance of Venerable Zhi Rong, the children's emotions were calmed through meditation.
The event commenced with Venerable Zhi Rong introducing the students and parents to the Great Compassion Bodhisattva, Avalokiteshvara, with vivid stories conveying the Bodhisattva's vows. This initiative aimed to provide the students with a deeper understanding of the essence of Chinese culture. Through interactive games, the children were acquainted with Founder of Fo Guang Shan Venerable Master Hsing Yun and gained insights into the unique structure of the Fo Guang Shan Main Hall, broadening their perspectives.

Following this, Principal Lina Lingco guided the students in adopting the philosophy of "Doing good deeds, speaking kind words, and harboring good thoughts." Expressing a keen interest in this principle, she emphasized the importance of practicing the "Three Acts of Goodness" daily. Through thought-provoking questions, Principal Lingco encouraged the children to contemplate how they could embody these values. Responses varied, with some suggesting giving toys, others emphasizing smiling more, and some mentioning the importance of expressing gratitude. This educational approach aimed to stimulate critical thinking and cultivate positive character traits in the children.
In conclusion, the students visited an art exhibition featuring paintings by kindergarten students, themed around the "Three Acts of Goodness." This experience sparked their interest in art and left them eagerly anticipating future participation. Many students sought details from the organizers, expressing a strong desire to be actively involved.
