Philippine Fo Guang Shan Yuan Thong Temple hosted a grand Three Act of Goodness community event on November 26th at the indoor activity center of the Villamonte community in the Philippines Bacolod. The event drew more than 80 enthusiastic children and students, along with 156 participating parents. Notable guests, including community representatives Lalian and Nancy Loplop, and Buddha's Light International Association(BLIA) Bacolod Chapter President Margarate Cordova, and supervisor Rosita Gochangco, graced the occasion.

The primary objective of this Three Act of Goodness community event was to promote the values of "Do Good Deeds, Speak Good Words, and Think Good Thoughts." The event began with a vibrant opening speech from community representative Lalain, expressing gratitude for the meaningful event organized by Fo Guang Shan Yuan Thong Temple and the Villamonte chapter. Madam Lalain emphasized the importance of collectively promoting the spirit of Three Act of Goodness to make it an integral part of the community's culture.

In the midst of the performances, BLIA officials explained the essence of Three Act of Goodness, with BLIA Bacolod Chapter Vice President Bing Lao explaining doing good deeds, Nena King elaborating on cultivating a kind heart, and Cora discussing the importance of speaking kind words.

Adding depth to the event, Supervisor Rosita Gochangco emphasized that Three Act of Goodness serves as an excellent moral education, benefiting numerous individuals. She highlighted the collaboration between Fo Guang Shan and the Philippines Department of Education since 2016 for the Three Act of Goodness Campus program. The aim is to revitalize the vibrant atmosphere of the Philippines, making it a destination everyone desires to visit.

Ven. Zhirong further elaborated that Three Act of Goodness is not just a code of conduct but a spiritual belief, and Fo Guang Shan has been actively involved in education to propagate positive values. Viola, the school principal of Progresso Elementary School Cadiz City, shared her personal journey of how she began engaging with Three Act of Goodness and Fo Guang Shan. As a Christian, she initially hesitated but found that Three Act of Goodness encourages people to do good deeds, inspiring her active participation.
