We saw an old-style single story house far away. The roof was made of russet tiles, and the walls around the garden were also russet. Green trees at the back of the house partially covered the roof. The green against the red attracted my attention.
Under it, to my surprise, was a flower garden.
On the other side of the garden, an old farmer was busy working. When he saw us standing there for a long time, he came and greeted us with a smile. This place was left by his ancestors. It had been a flower garden for many years. Everyone suggested that he plant vegetables that would bring him much more profit. But he'd rather struggle with flowers. His children had grown up and left. But he had not given up.
I looked at the smiling eyes under a shock of white hair, what could be called contentedness
His happiness came from the pruning, cutting, fertilizing his flowers. When the flowers bloom, that is his comfort.
I thought again about what he said. My heart was full of his happiness.
