U.S. Space Shuttle Atlantis, atop a modified Boeing 747, is towed after landing at the Kennedy Space Center 03 July, 2007 in Florida. Atlantis, having completed a 14-day construction mission to the International Space Station, was forced to land in California 22 June rather than in Florida due to bad weather. NASA workers will now begin preparing the spaceship for its next flight in December, when it is due to ferry Europe's Columbus research laboratory module to the space station. NASA needs to finish building the space station, a $100 billion project of 16 nations, before the shuttles are retired in 2010.
