文/宋.辛棄疾(1140~1207)
少年不識愁滋味,愛上層樓。
愛上層樓,為賦新詞強說愁。
而今識盡愁滋味,欲語還休。
欲語還休,卻道天涼好個秋!

Tune: The Ugly Slave
Xin Qiji (1140 - 1207, Song Dynasty)
English translation:Ven. Zhi Yue and Linda Tsui
In my youth,
I never knew the taste of sorrow.
I loved to climb high towers.*
I loved to climb high towers.
In order to write new verses,
I forced myself to speak of sorrow.
Yet now that I have fully learned the taste of sorrow,
I desire to tell, yet my words have stopped.
I desire to tell, yet my words have stopped.
Instead, I say “It is chilly out, what a wonderful autumn it is!”
