G:Peter, thanks for inviting me out to dinner.
P:No problem, Greg. Congratulations on your new job.
J:Greg, we're really excited for you.It sounds like a great opportunity.
G:Thanks. I can't believe I'm going to move to Taiwan to teach English. I've never lived in another country before.
J:How do you feel
G:I'm pretty excited, but also a little nervous. The culture is very different there.
P:Are you going to study Chinese while you're there
G:I'd like to, if I have time. I think it will be a lot easier to live in Taiwan if I can speak some Chinese.
P:I think it's a great idea. Knowing Chinese will be really important in the future.
G: You think so Why
P:It's becoming more and more important as a business language. Many companies are expanding and investing into Chinese-speaking markets.
J:Besides, if you can speak Chinese, it will be a lot easier for you to meet girls in Taiwan!
G:(aughs)Ok. You've convinced me now.
