Talents are what people get praised for, their inner quality.

 I was invited to watch the talent show of the nineteen-eighty-eight Miss Asia contest.  There were more than thirty beautiful young women presenting their unique talents. Most of them showed off their talents in singing and dancing.

Because the purpose of Miss Asia was the emphasis of cultural exchange and friendship, each country put talent over physical attributes.

All the contestants performed the best they could and made themselves even more beautiful through their efforts.

Do we need to have talent to be beautiful？Everyone has talents. If one is diligent and develops what his or she has, it will certainly enrich his or her life.

  才藝是除了外在俊美，最能博得他人稱讚的內在美。

  那晚，我應邀參加一九九八年亞裔小姐選美會舉辦的才藝競賽，有三十多位佳麗輕歌妙舞，各有所長，賣力出色的演出，以多才藝展現美的內涵。

  由於世界亞裔小姐選美的宗旨，在交流亞裔文化與友誼，因此各國在遴選佳麗時，首重才藝，有些外表不受矚目的小姐，那晚憑才藝取勝，表現了另一種美。

  在滿堂喝采聲中，我可以了解每一位小姐在演出表演前，都曾勤加練習，努力以赴，才藝出眾達到內外在俱美的目標。

  為增添內在美，我們每一個人是否都該具備至少一項才藝？依照自己的性向，必然可以培養，可以鍛鍊，既是興趣，也是專長，暇時自我排遣，人前展露一番，也是一樂。
