4)The Truth of the Path Leading to the End of Suffering 道諦
This is the way to eliminate all sorrows and sufferings. The path is a process of learning. How can we ever reach the stage state without cultivating the path How can we accomplish our faiths and aspirations without putting our learnings into practice We require righteous understanding, pure thoughts, kind speech, an appropriate means of an economic life, disciplined conducts, a mind that strives for progress, determina-tion, and an unshakable resolution as our requisites on the path of spiritual cultivation in order to reach the state of liberation.
After the Buddha attained enlightenment, He was said to have turned the Dharma Wheel three times:
Explanatory Turning of the Wheel: "This is suffering; it has an oppressive nature. This is the cause of suffer-ing; it has the nature of 'attachment' or 'clinging' or 'accumulating.' This is the cessation of suffering; it has the nature of 'realization' or 'awakening.' This is the way to the cessation of suffering; it has the nature of 'cultivation.'"
Persuasive Turning of the Wheel: "This is suffering; you should understand this. This is the cause of suffer-ing; you should end this. This is the cessation of suffer-ing; you should awaken to this. This is the way to the cessation of suffering; you should practice this."
Self-proved Turning of the Wheel: "This is suffer-ing; I know this. This is the cause of suffering; I already have ended it. This is the cessation of suffering; I al-ready have become awakened to it. This is the way that leads to the cessation of suffering; I already have prac-ticed it."
The Four Noble Truths is the universal truth of the mundane world. Aniruddha once said, “The sun may grow cold and the moon hot, but The Four Noble Truths taught by Buddha will never change!”
