A total of nearly 200 people participated in the event, including Venerable Man Wang, Abbess of Chung Tian Temple, other venerables, Fo Guan members from subchapters, teachers and students from Chung Tian Chinese School, and members of BLIA YAD.
Luo Shu-Feng, President of BLIA Queensland, gave a welcome speech to all participants and stressed the safety precautions.
Venerable Man Wang mentioned that 35 years ago, the wise and visionary Venerable Master Hsing Yun, the founder of Fo Guang Shan, ensured that the Dharma water would continuously flow in the area where Chung Tian Temple is located. This allowed those with affinity to practice, cultivate their hearts, and learn the Buddha's teachings in a natural environment.
Venerable Man Wang hopes that all participants, while running, can introspect and walk toward the Buddha, relying on the Buddha's light to become better persons. She encourages them to cultivate gratitude, not only for the many connections they have encountered but also for Venerable Master Hsing Yun. She reflects on the Venerable Master Hsing Yun's compassion and wisdom and how he has guided people towards a brighter path in life.
Venerable Man Wang sounded the starting signal, and all participants joyfully set off on the run, creating an atmosphere filled with laughter and cheer throughout the entire journey. Upon reaching the finish line, participants gradually gathered at the Chung Tian Temple's Padmagarbha Gate. Venerable Man Wang led everyone in offering dedications for the successful completion of the road run event.
