The South Korean capital Seoul launched its first water taxi service a-long the Han River on Oct. 11 to help ease rush hour congestion and give tourists an added attraction. The 10 water taxis will run every 10-15 minutes during morning and evening rush hours but must be booked in advance at other times.

南韓首都首爾10月11日首次沿漢江提供水上計程車服務，一方面紓解交通尖鋒時段的交通壅塞，一方面希望能吸引更多遊客。十輛水上計程車在早晚交通尖鋒時段每10到15分鐘開一班，但在其他時間要先預訂。

Sydney in Australia and Venice in Italy are known for their water transport. Andrea Sama, deputy head of mission of Italian Embassy in Seoul, said water transportation in Venice was highly recognized as a more convenient, fast and appealing alternative for locals and tourists compared to travel on roads. "I think Seoul can take advantage of its river, and I wish Seoul would attract more tourists through this. It could be a useful tool," Sama said. Mayor Oh Se-hoon in July announced the Han River renais-sance project to transform Seoul into an attractive waterfront city.

澳洲雪梨和義大利威尼斯以其水上交通聞名。義大利駐首爾大使館副館長沙馬說，威尼斯水上交通得到多方認同，認為相較於陸路交通，不管對本地人或遊客都是比較便捷、快速和更有吸引力的交通工具。

沙馬說：「我認為首爾可以好好利用這條河川，我也希望首爾會因而吸引更多遊客，這會是有用的工具。」首爾市長吳世勳七月宣布漢江整治計畫，要把首爾改造成具有吸引力的水上都市。
