To watch reality TV shows is quite an enjoyable experience. In America, all major TV networks have their own reality shows.1 Reality shows are not only interesting for audience to watch but also profitable2 for TV stations to produce.
觀賞電視實境節目是相當有趣的經驗。在美國，所有主要的電視台都有自己的實境節目。實境節目不僅觀眾喜歡，也為電視台賺到錢。

Personally, three reality shows that I like most. They are The Apprentice,3 The Amazing Race, and The American Idol.
我個人最喜歡的實境節目有三個，它們是：誰是接班人、驚險大挑戰以及美國偶像。

The Apprentice is hosted by Donald Trump, a famous New York real estate4 mogul5. The winner of this show can get a job contract to work for Donald Trump. But what the audience love is the line of "you're fired!" said by Donald Trump at the end of the show. However, in the very last episode, Donald Trump would say "you're hired" to someone. This is the climax6 of the show. 
「誰是接班人」由紐約的地產大亨唐納川普主持。這個節目的優勝者可得到一份為唐納川普工作的合約。不過，觀眾愛看的是節目最後唐納川普說的台詞 ：「你被開除了！」不過， 在最後一集裡，唐納川普會對某個人說「你被錄取了！」這是這個節目的高潮。

The Amazing Race is a race that eleven teams can compete with each other and travel around the world at the same time. The prize for the winner is one million dollars. Isn't it amazingly attractive This season, the winner team is "The hippies." They are smart and nice. Both of them can speak many languages. I think the reason they won is because they are travelers but tourists. 
「驚險大挑戰」裡的十一組隊伍可以同時競賽並且環遊世界。第一名的獎金是一百萬美金，是不是很叫人心動呢？這一季的優勝隊是「嬉皮」隊。他們聰明又和善，而且會說多國語言。我想他們致勝的原因在於他們是旅行者而非觀光客！

The American Idol has become a social phenomenon7 in the States. The last episode of this season, more than sixty million viewers voted. Tyler Hicks became the new American Idol of 2006. Tyler Hicks is the oldest person (29 years old) and the second8 man to win the contest so far. 
Many people probably9 like Katharine McPhee more. But I guess we can only respect the choice of the audience.10
美國偶像已成為美國的社會現象了。這一季的最後一集有超過六千萬的觀眾投票，泰勒希克斯成為二○○六年的美國偶像。泰勒希克斯是目前年紀最大（二十九歲）的美國偶像，也是第二個男性贏得這個競賽。許多人可能比較喜歡凱瑟林麥比，但是我想我們只能尊重觀眾的選擇。
