M: Hey, Peter! Come in! Good to see you. How are you doing
P: Just fine, sir. And yourself
M: Fine, fine, thanks. Sit down. We need to talk about the account with United Chemical Company.
P: What about it, sir I just talked with them yesterday. Is everything ok
M: Well, it's ok for now. But I'm thinking about switching1 to another company. United ;Chemical's prices are too high. It's driving our cost up.
P: Are you sure We've been working with United Chemical for twenty years. They've been a really good supplier.2 They've always delivered3 on time and their products are very high quality.
M: Unfortunately, our customers don't care about that. All they care about is the price. And if we stay with United Chemical, we're going to lose business.
P: Maybe I can talk to United Chemical again and work something out. Maybe they'd be willing to give us a discount. I'm sure they'd hate to lose us.
M: They'd better do something or we're going to take our business elsewhere. Can you tell them that
P: Ok. I'll try to say it in a nice way.
M: Don't be so nice all the time, Peter. No one was ever successful in business because they were nice. If you don't kill your competitors, they will kill you.
P: I see. You're absolutely right, sir.
M: Of course I'm right. I want a report on United Chemical by Friday. Got it
P: Got it. Thank you, sir. Anything else
M: No, that's all. I'm leaving the office this afternoon to play golf with one of our clients.4 Call my cell phone if you need anything.
P: No problem. Enjoy your golf game.
M: Don't worry, I will. The weather is beautiful, isn't it

彼得︰也許我可以再跟聯合化學談談,找出解決方案,也許他們願意給我們折扣,我確信他們不想失去我們這客戶。
博曼︰他們最好有所動作,不然我們將另開貨源,你能這樣告訴他們?
彼得︰好,我會試著委婉點表達。
博曼︰彼得,別總是那麼好,沒人會因好心而使企業有所成就,假如你不解決你的競爭對手,他們就會解決你。
