During his official visit to the Philippines, National Police Agency (NPA) Director General Huang Ming-chao of Taiwan made a private appearance to the 'After a Thousand Miles - Hsu Wen-Jung World Exhibition Tour' at Fo Guang Yuan Manila Art Gallery. Mr. Huang was welcomed by Fo Guang Shan (FGS) Mabuhay Temple Abbess Venerable Miao Jing, world-known artist Professor Hsu Wen-Jung, Buddha's Light International Association Advisor Sonny Lee and members, as well as the young scholars of Guang Ming College (GMC).

Professor Hsu has personally toured Director General Huang and his company to explain the spiritual content and naming process of his artwork. Artist Hsu explained the choice of stainless steel to symbolize modernity, the painting of ox and calf to represent humanity, the scriptural rock with bonsai to show persistence, as well as the Hsu-style running-cursive calligraphy to imply oriental aestheticism with ancient wisdom.

Director General Huang congratulated Professor Hsu for concluding his world exhibition tour in nine Fo Guang Yuan art galleries around the globe since 2019. He expressed the artistic creativity, technological innovation and spiritual presentation in Professor Hsu's artwork. Moreover, he was thrilled to know a Taiwanese artist and his artwork being featured in the artistic rich Philippines.

When Director General Huang met FGS scholars for having studied Humanistic Buddhism, he was pleased to speak to the young Filipino that the society is complex but dedication and ethics can ease the transitional process of entering the workforce from student life.

Director General Huang further pointed out that the keys to be a useful and successful societal person are to be a hard worker, to volunteer oneself to help others anytime, and to be grateful of our parents, GMC benefactors and faculty, as well as sentient beings who have touched one's life.
