To the road of Happiness and Peace

In the morning of Oct.11th, the flag of Buddhism as well as the flag of BLIA, the flags of over 100 countries and the colorful national traditional costumes were shinning over the Buddha Path.The international conference of BLIA was held at the Buddha Memorial Center for the first time. Over 3,000 BLIA members attended the flag rising ceremony with excitement. The conference then commenced at Great Enlightenment of Buddha Memorial Center. The President of R.O.C--Mr. Ma Ying-Jou , the Prime Minister of Australia- Ms.Julia Gillard all wrote to express their kind wishes. The Vice President- Mr. Wu Den-yih and the Honorable President of BLIA Chunghua- Mr. Wu Bo-hsiung both delivered speeches at the event.At three p.m., the founder of BLIA- Venerable Master Hsing-yun gave a talk by offering the members four suggestions as follows:

1.Happiness and peace come from detachment and contentment.

2.Happiness and peace come from compassion and tolerance

3.Happiness and peace come from letting go and picking up with Perfect ease.

4. Happiness and peace come from altruism and selflessness.



通往「幸福與安樂」的道路

旗正飄飄迎佛光，昨日早上，佛教教旗、國際佛光會會旗與世界各國國旗在佛陀紀念館菩提廣場飄揚，旗海與各國佛光人身著的傳統服裝，繽紛多彩莊嚴菩提道。

國際佛光會世界會員代表大會首次在佛館舉行，近三千位佛光人滿懷興奮參與升旗典禮，開幕典禮在大覺堂揭開序幕，中華民國總統馬英九親題「布德淑世」祝賀嘉勉，澳洲總理茱莉亞‧吉拉德致上賀函，副總統吳敦義與國際佛光會中華總會吳伯雄榮譽總會長蒞臨致詞。

下午三點，國際佛光會創會會長星雲大師於大會中發表主題演說，揭櫫通往「幸福與安樂」的四條道路：

一、淡泊知足是幸福安樂，二、慈悲包容是幸福安樂；

三、提放自如是幸福安樂，四、無私無執是幸福安樂。
