君子之交,其淡如水,
執象而求,咫尺千里。
問余何適?廓爾亡言,
華枝春滿,天心月圓。

The Heart of Heaven,
that Full Moon
Yanyin Hongyi (1880 - 1942)
English translation:Venerable Miao Guang
Acquaintances between superior men
are as bland as water.
Any pursuit with a mind attached to appearances
may seem within reach,
yet a thousand miles away.
When asked of me, “What place shall suit you?”
I remain speechless in the face of an open future.
On the flower branches, full of spring air,
In the heart of heaven, that full moon.
