A legend is sung, of when England was young, and knights were brave and bold. The good king had died, and no one could decide who was the rightful heir to the throne. It seemed that the land would be torn by war, or saved by a miracle alone. And that miracle appeared in London town: The Sword in the Stone.

民間傳誦一個傳說：英格蘭年輕的時候、騎士勇敢而大膽的時代……好國王死了，沒人能決定誰是王位的合法繼承人。看來，這片土地會被戰爭摧毀……或者，一個奇蹟能拯救全局。那個奇蹟出現在倫敦小鎮：一把插在石中之劍。

Whoso pulleth out this sword of this stone and anvil is rightwise king, born of England. Though many tried for the sword with all their strength, none could move the sword nor stir it; so, the miracle had not worked, and England was still without a king. And in time, the marvelous sword was forgotten. This was a Dark Age, without law and without order. Men lived in fear of one another, for the strong preyed upon the weak.

能從此砧拔出這把劍的人，將是英國的明智國王。儘管多人全力以赴地嘗試，但從沒有人能撼動半分。因此奇蹟未曾發生，英格蘭仍然沒有國王。隨著時間流逝，這把神奇的劍被遺忘了。這是黑暗時代，沒有法律，也沒有秩序。強凌弱、眾暴寡，人們生活在彼此的恐懼之中。

The best thing for being sad.....is to learn something. That is the only thing that never fails. You may grow old and trembling, you may lie awake at night listening to the disorder of your veins, you may miss your only love, you may see the world about you devastated by evil lunatics, or know your honor trampled in the sewers of baser minds. There is only one thing for it then - to learn. Learn why the world wags and what wags it. That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting.
